On May 19th, 2016, over 60 guests attended The Chinese Finance Association (“TCFA”) Career Development Series: Mentor dinner event, held at Evergreen Shanghai restaurant in midtown Manhattan. TCFA invited seven mentors that consisted of distinguished senior professionals at various asset management companies and investment banks: Ms. Ming Cen, Director at PWP Global Macro Fund; Mr. Kai Fung, PM and Director of Investment Management at 400 Capital Management LLC; Mr. Xinyu Liu, Managing Director at Blackstone; Dr. Henry Mo, Managing Director and Deputy Chief Economist at AIG; Dr. Hui Shao, Director of Counterparty Credit Risk Analytics at Bank of America Merrill Lynch; Dr. Yi Tang, Managing Director and Head Quant for XVA & Contingent Credit Trading at Wells Fargo Securities; and Ms. Lulin Xia, PM at CQS Capital. The mentees consisted of mostly of professionals across a variety of job functions in finance and experience levels as well as students.

The mentors shared their Wall Street career experience and provided valuable advice on career development, including interview preparation, networking, promotion, how to fit into American culture, executive presence, etc. The event was followed by a 30-minute networking session.
The Mentor Dinner Event is one of TCFA’s most sought-after career development events, and this marks the the sixth time that TCFA has hosted such an event in New York City.
