TCFA New York Chapter proudly hosted a women’s career panel “The Secrets to Success on Wall Street” at Song Dynasty restaurant on May 10, 2011. The panel featured senior female professionals in a variety of functions in finance, including a Managing Director and Portfolio Manager at Pinebridge Asset Management, a Managing Director in Sales & Trading at Bank of America Merrill Lynch, a Director in Capital Optimization at Citigroup, an Executive Director in Corporate Banking at JP Morgan, an Executive Director in Equity Proprietary Trading at Morgan Stanley, and a Director in Corporate Banking at ICBC

The event drew a capacity crowd of over 60 attendees consisting of mostly professionals and some students. The panellists shared their insights on the how to overcome challenges facing women in the financial services industries, how to get promoted and recognized, the importance of mentors and sponsors, the significance of building internal and external networks, and how to achieve work/life balance. The panel discussion was followed by a networking dinner, during which the audience engaged in stimulating Q&A with our panelists.

We are very encouraged with the great turnout and tremendous response we have received for our first women’s event. We look forward to organizing similar events in the future.
